Rising oil prices drive up yields, Bitcoin holds its ground, while gold weakens

According to CoinMeta, due to the military conflict between the US and Iran, Brent crude oil was around $90.49 at the close on Monday, while WTI was at $85.76. At the same time, the yield on 10-year US Treasury bonds climbed to 4.768%, the highest level since January 2025. This change could lead to high inflation, forcing the Federal Reserve to maintain a tight policy, with the market anticipating a 65% probability of a rate hike in September. Nasdaq futures remain below the important range of 29,540-29,590, testing around 29,385. Bitcoin rebounded from around $77,165 to $78,600; despite rising yields and a weaker stock market, Bitcoin is still resisting the pressure of risk aversion. Gold futures closed at $4,481 after a decline of about 1.1%, with spot gold near two-week lows. Rising oil prices have exacerbated inflation and tightening concerns, leading to an increase in the opportunity cost of gold.
