According to CoinMeta, Japanese companies increased their capital expenditures in the second quarter, indicating that the business community is able to cope with the impacts of the conflicts in the Middle East relatively well. Data released on Tuesday in Japan showed that capital expenditures, excluding software, grew by 2.9% on a quarterly basis over the three months ending at the end of June. Capital expenditures, including software, increased by 1.6% year-on-year, whereas economists had previously predicted a decline of 0.3%. Sales volume increased by 5.9% year-on-year, and profits for the period grew by 24.6%, far exceeding expectations. These results may indicate that the gross domestic product (GDP) data for the second quarter, which will be released on September 8th, is likely to be revised upwards.
