During the meeting, Putin stated that Russia-Iran relations are developing steadily in all areas. Despite the military and political situation, the two countries have maintained the momentum of their economic and trade relations from last year. Russia is providing Iran with necessary material support. Putin also mentioned that Russia welcomed Iran's signing of a memorandum with the United States, but regretfully, the ceasefire is fragile. Putin asked Raisi to convey his greetings to Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Russian sources indicated that the Middle East situation was one of the main topics of discussion during the talks.
