According to CoinMeta, Treasury Secretary Scott Bennett ( Scott Bessent ) stated on Tuesday that since President Trump's reinstatement, the U.S. bond market has performed better than other global markets. However, his comments came at a time when the yield on 10-year Treasurys soared to its highest level in nearly 20 months, and global bond sales sparked concerns of a repeat of the 1997 Asian financial crisis. In a "fireside chat" with Fox Business Channel host Larry Kudlow ( Larry Kudlow ), Bennett said, "This is the best-performing bond market among the world's major countries." The perspective he adopted downplayed the bond market's reaction to President Trump's tenure. Bennett pointed out that investors began selling U.S. Treasurys before the possibility of Trump's victory was priced into market expectations. Nevertheless, Bennett stated at the G20 Treasury Secretary meeting that the U.S. bond market has performed at a moderate level over the past two years.
