Full Sail Announces Shutdown of Protocol, Suffers from Theft of Approximately $91,000

According to CoinMeta, Wu said that the SUI ecosystem’s DeFi protocol Full Sail announced that it would shut down the protocol and exit in an orderly manner. The team explained that on August 29th, attackers exploited a signature control vulnerability in the code of the Switchboard oracle project implemented in the Move language. By releasing false quotes about 100 times higher than the market price, they manipulated the treasury withdrawals, resulting in the theft of approximately $91,000 from three treasuries under Full Sail. At the same time, the Switchboard oracle incident also caused Virtue Protocol to suffer losses of about $455,000 in liquidations. Full Sail stated that Switchboard has not disclosed the specific details of the code vulnerability or provided any compensation commitments to this day, and Mysten Labs has also rejected requests for financial support. The Full Sail team decided to bear the losses with their own liquidity and out of their own pockets, in order to prioritize full compensation for community depositors, and will release withdrawal and claim guidelines within a few days.
