2026-09-03 04:47:06
According to CoinMeta, the G20 Finance Ministers' Meeting was held from August 31 to September 1 in Asheville, North Carolina, where 19 member countries reached an important global economic declaration. China was the only opponent. The declaration mentioned that G20 supports a clear path for innovation in digital assets while maintaining financial stability, and called for FATF to prioritize the implementation of encryption standards in countries with significant virtual asset activities. In addition, the Financial Stability Board is preparing research on the cross-border impact of global stablecoins, emphasizing the gaps in stablecoin data. The meeting also warned that disruptions in energy trade through the Strait of Hormuz pose a threat to economic growth and stressed the need for safe, free, and predictable navigation. Member countries are pushing for faster and more predictable debt restructuring to address the crowding-out effect of high debt service costs on investment. Finally, G20 stated that investments in AI, computing, and digital infrastructure will enhance productivity, while also pointing out financial and network risks.
