Tether USDT0 launched on Stellar, supporting cross-chain liquidity
2026-09-03 16:10:44
According to CoinMeta, USDT0 of Tether was launched on Stellar on September 2nd, connecting blockchain-based payment solutions with the cross-chain stablecoin infrastructure that supports Tether asset liquidity. This integration utilizes LayerZero's cross-chain interoperable token standard, allowing USDT0 to move between Stellar and the connected blockchains while maintaining the unified supply supported one-to-one by USDT as described by its developers. Unlike the new direct issuance of USDT on Stellar, which is different from Tether, this is an interoperable product that expands the capability to access USDT liquidity on supported networks. The Stellar development foundation stated that this asset can support payments, treasury transfers, transactions, and decentralized finance. The actual adoption will depend on the amount of funds transferred to Stellar as well as the number of enterprises and users that integrate it.
