BitMart Creditor Organization Proposes a $10 Million Rescue Plan
2026-09-03 17:55:19
According to CoinMeta, on September 2, creditors of BitMart organized a temporary committee aimed at addressing the debt issues following the exchange's decision to cease operations. The committee represents "a significant and continuously growing total amount of frozen customer assets," but the number of creditors involved or the amount of their claims has not been disclosed. Echo Base stated that a written proposal offering up to $10 million in funds to support a pre-negotiated bankruptcy application has been submitted to the management of BitMart. BitMart has not yet responded to this proposal. The exchange announced a orderly shutdown on July 26 and ceased trading services on August 26. BitMart planned to stop platform operations on January 31, 2027; although it stated it would continue, compliance reviews and a surge in demand could potentially delay this process.
