Ukrainian police shut down a fake crypto investment platform, with monthly transactions amounting to $1 million

According to CoinMeta, as reported by Decrypt, the Ukrainian National Police and Security Service have shut down a network of fake investment platforms that stole cryptocurrency wallets from users in over 20 countries. The gang used Telegram channels to post fake investment advertisements, luring victims to counterfeit exchanges and stealing their funds. Investigators confirmed that there were 62 victims in more than 20 countries, including Germany, Poland, France, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Israel, with the gang's monthly turnover reaching up to one million US dollars at its peak.
