Singapore police join forces with multiple digital payment service providers to launch an anti-fraud campaign

According to CoinMeta, as reported by The Lianhe Morning Post, from July 1st to August 31st, the Singapore Police Force's Cyber Command collaborated with digital payment token service providers such as Coinbase, Coinhako, DTCPay, Gemini, Independent Reserve, OKX, StraitsX, and Upbit to carry out anti-fraud operations. Utilizing blockchain analysis tools from TRM Labs and Chainalysis, they identified over 355 victims involved in scams involving impersonation of government officials, investment fraud, and job hunting fraud, successfully preventing losses of more than S$8.94 million. This operation marked the first time that blockchain intelligence was shared with overseas law enforcement agencies such as the US FBI and the New South Wales Police in Australia, and an additional 50 overseas victims were identified, helping to prevent further losses for them.
