According to CoinMeta, the United States Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have jointly taken action to confiscate over $560,000 in illegal cryptocurrency funds associated with Hamas. This confiscation was carried out after a year and a half of tracking blockchain fund movements. The authorities also shut down several communication facilities used by Hamas donors and supporters. As announced on September 1st, a court authorized the confiscation of these funds and legitimized the interference with all communication channels used by the organization to raise funds from sympathizers. Documents from March 2025 indicate that this operation lasted until August 2026.
