New Jersey Attorney General Jennifer Davonport and Mary Joe Flaherty, the acting director of New Jersey’s Gaming Enforcement Division, submitted a petition challenging the ruling of the Third Circuit Court. The ruling in this case contrasts with similar cases in Nevada and may provide an opportunity for the Supreme Court to resolve the growing disputes over federal versus state jurisdiction. New Jersey believes that similar lawsuits have been filed in at least 20 states, and different rulings have led to regulatory uncertainty.
