According to CoinMeta, as reported by Semafor, the National Sheriff's Association of the United States ( NSA ) has adjusted its stance on Clarity Act from opposition to neutral. In a letter to the Senate Majority Leader John Thune and the Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, NSA stated that given the complexity of the bill and the many important details still to be discussed, the most appropriate course of action at present is to take a step back, allow the legislative process to continue, and establish a clear and effective regulatory framework. NSA had previously expressed concerns that the bill contained overly broad exemptions in areas such as DEFI, anti-money laundering, and sanctions. The U.S. Senate currently plans to hold a procedural vote on advancing the bill on September 15th, which is not a final approval vote.
