According to CoinMeta, as reported by Crypto.News, a US dollar stablecoin project supported by 21 global financial institutions is set to be established in the second half of 2026 and is expected to be launched in the first half of 2027. Participating institutions include Bank of America, Citibank, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, and UBS, among others. Despite the support from these institutions, industry executives emphasize that the stability coin's liquidity, accessibility, and portability must match those of USDT and USDC to ensure its widespread adoption. This stablecoin may also introduce stablecoins pegged to other G7 currencies, with the euro being the initial target for expansion.
