According to CoinMeta, as reported by bitcoin.com and news, the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions has accused Coinflip and its CEO Benjamin Weiss of violating the Uniform Money Services Act, and intends to revoke Coinflip's license and impose a fine of $1.0296 million. The allegations include insufficient anti-money laundering controls, inadequate transaction monitoring, failure to enforce transaction limits, inaccurate regulatory reporting, unclear fee disclosure, and failure to refund funds to 15 customers in a timely manner. The proposed order requires Coinflip to refund funds to eligible Washington state customers, with customers aged 60 and above being entitled to a refund of transaction fees and additional charges. Coinflip and Benjamin Weiss have the option to apply for an administrative hearing to dispute the allegations.
