According to CoinMeta, the cross-chain protocol Router Protocol has announced that after more than four years of operation, it has decided to gradually cease its operations and will be completely shut down by September 30, 2026. The team stated that in the past two years, the liquidity of Web3 has been consistently tight, with some funds shifting to AI. The income from cross-chain infrastructure has been insufficient to cover the long-term operating costs. Router Protocol will permanently destroy 3,033,339 ROUTE coins in the treasury that are pending processing, and will coordinate with centralized exchanges to delist ROUTE. The team reminds holders to exchange their coins before the deadline according to the arrangements of each exchange. In addition, the project will not launch any new plans related to ROUTE and intends to open-source some of its technical components.
