Arthur Hayes: The bursting of the AI computing power bubble will force the US government to print money, which is good news for Bitcoin
2026-09-22 09:33:13
According to CoinMeta, Arthur Hayes pointed out in the new article “Safety First” that there is a bubble in the computing power demand within the AI industry, and the three major AI laboratories rely on over one trillion dollars in debt to support their operations. If the demand for computing power declines, leading to debt downgrades, insurance companies will face insolvency. In response to these financial risks, the U.S. government may choose to print money, which would be a long-term positive for Bitcoin. Additionally, commercial banks have already created more than 100 billion dollars in currency, and interest rates hikes allow banks to earn an extra 7.5 billion dollars in reserve interest annually, so market liquidity will continue to grow.
