According to CoinMeta, the Balancer community has proposed to initiate an official fork as the protocol faces a scheduled shutdown proposal. They plan to migrate the existing liquidity, team members, partners, users, and intellectual property to the new protocol, positioning it as a platform for tokenized stocks and other traditional financial assets on various chains. The proposal suggests that the current fund pool and vault should not be paused until at least the second quarter of 2027. The new project is expected to receive approximately 6 million unissued BAL, with a current value of about $690,000, as startup funds. Meanwhile, another community proposal involving Balancer TVL amounts to about $57 million recommends gradually shutting down the protocol and distributing at least about $9 million in treasury assets to the holders of BAL.
