Paolo Ardoino: The European Central Bank is exerting pressure to remove the reserve requirements for MiCA stablecoins

According to CoinMeta, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino revealed that central banks across Europe are putting pressure on Brussels to remove the mandatory provisions regarding stablecoin reserve funds in MiCA. These provisions require large stablecoin issuers to deposit 60% of their reserve funds with commercial banks. Tether once abandoned its application for an EU operating license due to its refusal to comply with these provisions.
