CoinMeta data: Bitcoin rebounded to $84,000 on Wednesday, after previously reaching a seven-month high of $87,250. During this rebound, traders turned to two unexpected winners: Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Bitcoin SV (BSV), both of which have recorded significant gains in the past few months. BCH forked from the Bitcoin mainchain in August 2017 due to disputes over block size, with the aim of achieving cheaper and faster payments, rather than simply serving as a store of value. BSV forked from BCH a year later due to the "hash war," promoting larger blocks and returning to Bitcoin's original design. BCH rose by 30% after the announcement and quickly broke through $340, reaching a high of $358. The CME group announced that it would launch BCH futures contracts on October 19th, becoming the exchange's tenth single-asset crypto contract, which drove up the price of BCH. Meanwhile, Grayscale applied to convert its BCH trust into the spot ETF listed on NYSE Arca, further enhancing the story of institutional adoption for BCH. BSV also saw a rise, with an increase of about 20%.
