According to CoinMeta, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has identified artificial intelligence (AI) and tokenization as key areas of regulation for 2027, reviewing the application of these technologies in the core business of regulated institutions. The European Central Bank (ECB) plans to invest part of its reserves in tokenized securities and launch a wholesale platform that will connect distributed ledger technology (DLT) market infrastructure with traditional payment systems.
