Bitget CEO: North Korean hackers possibly involved in a $352 million security vulnerability

CoinMeta data: Bitget CEO Gracy Chen stated that North Korean hackers may be involved in a security vulnerability of $352 million at the exchange, citing IP addresses used by VPN associated with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea ( DPRK ). The United States and Iran are exploring a gradual agreement to re-open the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for lifting sanctions on Iranian ports. The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission ( CFTC ) updated its crypto guidelines, allowing registered companies to invest customer funds in tokenized assets and use blockchain for record-keeping. The yield on 10-year U.S. Treasury bonds reached 5.18%, the highest level since July 2007. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth disclosed at least $3.1 million in cash and investments, including Bitcoin valued between $16,000 and $65,000. Bitget confirmed unauthorized transfers from some of its hot wallets, affecting approximately $351.6 million in assets, and has temporarily suspended withdrawals.
