According to CoinMeta, as reported by GlonHub, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on Friday that Iran remains committed to maintaining the safety of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, but maritime security cannot be achieved through military actions, threats, blockades, or economic coercion. Araghchi read a statement to reporters during a break at the United Nations General Assembly, saying, "Maritime security cannot be re-established through further military actions, threats, blockades, or economic coercion." He noted that the instability in the strait and the disruption of shipping are "direct consequences of the aggressive actions of the United States and the Israeli regime." He pointed out, "You cannot bomb a country, threaten to annihilate it, impose maritime blockades and coercive measures, and expect security and navigation to return to normal on their own." Araghchi also said that if some countries provide territorial, military base, airspace, or logistical and intelligence support for attacks against Iran, then those countries must bear corresponding responsibility. Araghchi also accused Washington of "weaponizing economic measures as a tool for collective punishment and political coercion," stating that the U.S. actions violate the rights to life, health, and access to medicine and food of the Iranian people.
