AI Industry Faces Risk of Capital Gap, May Repeat Past Mistakes
2026-09-28 13:10:04
According to CoinMeta, historical bubble signals have reappeared this time, targeting the artificial intelligence (AI) industry. Analyst Jonathan Weil pointed out that the prosperity and decline of the AI industry depend on capital flows, similar to the internet bubble in 2000 and the real estate crisis in 2008. Currently, companies such as OpenAI and Anthropic are facing funding gaps and have no public profits. The financing capability of OpenAI partly relies on the continuous support of NVIDIA and SoftBank, while the IPO timeline for Anthropic has been postponed from October to November. Despite these delays, Wall Street Journal noted that these seemingly early precautions do not mean that the funding window has closed.
