Brent crude breaks through $106, Trump rejects Iran deal
2026-09-28 17:04:07
CoinMeta data: According to Reuters, after Trump rejected Iran's latest peace proposal, the price of Brent crude oil rose by more than 2% on Monday, breaking through $106 to reach $106.92 per barrel. The price of WTI crude oil also rose to $94.49. Despite oil exports in the Middle East returning to their highest levels since the conflict began, the market is still pricing in potential supply disruptions. Exports from Saudi Arabia and the UAE are expected to recover, however, the vulnerability of the Strait of Hormuz remains. If no progress is made in this week's negotiations, Brent oil prices may remain above $106, reflecting the market's expectations of supply tensions and geopolitical instability.
