According to CoinMeta, Korean retail investors bought $1.6 billion worth of stocks against the trend when the KOSPI index fell, becoming the only net buyers of the day. On September 28th, the KOSPI index dropped by 2.70% to close at 6,889.75 points, during which time foreign and institutional investors sold $3.23 trillion (about $2.4 billion) worth of shares. Despite the selling pressure from foreign investors, retail investors saw this decline as an opportunity to buy, with their net purchases increasing from about 145 billion won (about $106 million) in the morning to 221 billion won at the close of trading.
