Franklin Templeton expands its tokenized collateral service to Bybit

CoinMeta US stock data: Franklin Templeton is expanding its “over-the-counter (OTC) collateral program” to Bybit, allowing users of this exchange to conduct crypto transactions using shares of Franklin Templeton’s tokenized money market funds. This collaboration enables investors and wallet holders to pledge their shares in exchange for borrowing stablecoins USDT or USDC, while also earning returns on the underlying assets. Users do not need to transfer the underlying assets to Bybit; a regulated custodian platform ByCustody will hold these assets on an OTC basis, and their value will be reflected in the trading environment of Bybit to generate returns and unlock trading liquidity. This is not Franklin Templeton’s first OTC collateral collaboration; the company has also provided its tokenized money market funds to customers of Binance and OKX. Franklin Templeton’s head of digital assets and innovation, Sandy Kaul, stated: “Now I can make comparisons between top exchanges, use my collateral more optimally as an investor, and earn returns at the same time, which is crucial for the growth of the ecosystem.”
