Ether.fi will discontinue its last structural connection with EigenLayer this quarter

According to CoinMeta, the liquidity collateral protocol Ether.fi will discontinue its last structural linkage with EigenLayer this quarter, at which point the proportion of its re-collateralized assets will be less than 1%. CEO Mike Silagadze stated that the reason for exiting is that the re-collateralization risks still exist and there are no substantial benefits. Re-collateralization currently protects assets worth $10 billion, but it only generates $99,977 in fees per dollar of protected assets, which is about 53 times the yield of ordinary liquidity collateral. The top five remaining liquid re-collateralized tokens had a total gross profit of $953,400 last quarter, which is lower than the $2.18 million from three quarters ago.
