CoinMeta US stock news: According to MarketWatch, the US stock market closed lower on Monday. The lack of progress in the Middle East situation led to rising oil prices, which in turn pushed Treasury yields to their highest levels in decades. The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note increased by 6.1 basis points (0.061 percentage points), closing at 5.241%, marking the fifth consecutive increase and the highest closing rate since June 12, 2007. Higher Treasury yields may reduce the attractiveness of stocks to investors seeking returns. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 347 points, or 0.7%, closing at 51,482; the S&P 500 Index fell 59 points, or 0.8%, closing at 7,684; and the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 248 points, or 0.9%, closing at 26,820.
