According to CoinMeta, as reported by Coinbureau, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has officially approved Coinbase's own clearinghouse, which is specifically designed for USDC collateral and 24/7 settlement. The Coinbase clearinghouse is now registered and is capable of clearing fully collateralized futures, options, and swaps, in compliance with CFTC regulations. Coinbase stated that direct clearing of these contracts will accelerate the development of new regulatory products, and referred to its clearinghouse as the first USDC native clearinghouse, although external partners will still be used for certain products, including the planned per-share perpetual contracts.
