According to CoinMeta, Democratic investigators from the U.S. Senate have released a report accusing USDT of serving as a financial channel for Iran, and requesting an investigation into whether Tether has violated sanctions and banking laws. The report mentions the relationship between Tether and President Trump's administration, including the business dealings between Cantor Fitzgerald and Tether as well as Bo Hines's tenure in office. The report reviews investigations targeting Trump, World Liberty Financial, MGX, Binance, and Trump's family's crypto business since 2025, involving $2 billion in investments, $11.6 billion in asset value, $800 million in revenue, $500 million in equity acquisitions, and $550 million in frozen funds. Tether responded by stating that the company cooperates with law enforcement agencies and denied that USDT serves as a safe haven for criminal networks.
