McKinsey: AI may force 11 million American workers to switch to new careers
2026-09-29 12:18:18
According to CoinMeta, McKinsey released a report stating that in the next decade, the greatest challenge facing American workers may not be mass unemployment caused by artificial intelligence (AI), but rather helping millions of people transition to new jobs. Research indicates that AI could create more job opportunities than it replaces, but approximately 11 million American workers (about 7% of the current workforce) may need to change careers due to AI-related impacts. It is expected that the number of workers changing careers in the United States each year could triple over the next decade, and about six-sevenths of these workers may need to undergo extensive skills training, facing the risk of reduced income.
