Michael Burry: The bubble of AI may burst sooner than expected
2026-09-29 13:51:47
According to CoinMeta, investor Michael Burry stated that after a weekend of research, he had converted his short-term stock positions into put options, believing that the bubble in artificial intelligence (AI) might burst earlier than expected. He disclosed this change in Monday's newsletter "Substack," which covered companies including Micron, Nebi, Nvidia, Palantir, and a semiconductor company ETF. Burry noted that the value of put options increases as stock prices fall, and his put options on Micron and Nebi will expire in June, while those on Nvidia, Palantir, and SOXX will expire in September 2027. He also mentioned that since indicators such as the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) remain abnormally high, the prices of these put options seem cheap.
