According to CoinMeta, on September 28th, Citibank announced the launch of enterprise-level tokenized deposit services in Japan and the United Arab Emirates. Japanese customers can transfer funds almost instantaneously to accounts in regions where these services are already available, such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and Singapore. The service supports US dollars, and cross-border transfers are available 24/7, 365 days a year. These tokenized deposits are backed by traditional bank deposits and are processed on a licensed blockchain managed by Citibank, without the need to open new accounts or use cryptocurrency wallets. The service now covers seven markets: the United States, Ireland, Hong Kong (China), Singapore, the United Kingdom, Japan, and the United Arab Emirates.
