It is expected that spending on data center construction will continue to grow, becoming the largest capital expenditure project in U.S. history, surpassing that of railways and highways. Although overall construction spending decreased by 3.8% year-on-year, data center spending increased by more than 57% year-on-year. According to an economist from the American Contractors and Builders Association, a large portion of the current demand for construction labor is driven by data center construction activities. Recruitment for positions related to data centers has surged by nearly 130% in the past two years.
