According to CoinMeta, Hester Peirce, also known as "Crypto Mom," will resign from her position at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on October 2nd. Since 2018, Peirce has been serving in this role and has led its crypto task force. She has consistently held a pro-crypto stance and has expressed dissent regarding several law enforcement actions taken by the Biden administration against digital asset companies. With Peirce's departure, SEC Chairperson Paul Atkins and Commissioner Mark Uyeda will become the only two remaining commissioners of the agency. Peirce is expected to join the Regent University Law School as an associate professor in November.
