Chainlink Launches Framework Connecting to SWIFT Ledgers, 17 Banks Preparing for Pilots

According to CoinMeta, Chainlink has announced the launch of a new connectivity framework that allows banks to access the SWIFT blockchain ledger through the Chainlink platform while retaining their transaction signature keys. This framework utilizes the Chainlink runtime environment (CRE) to coordinate interactions between institutional systems and the ledger, with banks adopting a self-signing approach. The SWIFT ledger supports 24/7 tokenized deposit payments, and final settlements are completed through the existing real-time, full-value settlement mechanism. Currently, 17 banks including ANZ, HSBC, Citibank, Standard Chartered, and UBS are preparing to conduct tokenized deposit pilots on the SWIFT ledger.
