According to CoinMeta, Velocity (formerly Drift) indicates that co-founder Cindy Leow has stepped down, and the protocol will continue to be operated by the existing team. Drift was launched in 2021 on Solana and has accumulated a trading volume of over 150 billion US dollars. In April this year, Drift suffered an attack attributed to North Korea (DPRK); the attackers carried out social engineering infiltration for about 6 months before the team initiated protocol reconstruction and user asset recovery, and on April 16th, they received support from Tether. In July, Drift was renamed Velocity, and this month, Velocity Beta has opened 5 new markets. The team has completed a comprehensive audit of OtterSec and made the audit report and protocol code public. They are currently developing a new order flow system and plan to continue adding features, markets, and collateral assets, with the goal of expanding from crypto assets to stocks.
