According to CoinMeta, Goldman Sachs partner Lisa Mantil has announced her departure to join the forecasting market Polymarket, which will become her second career. Mantil has worked at Goldman Sachs for nearly 27 years and was responsible for the ETF accelerator, helping clients launch exchange-traded funds (ETFs). She will now build products for banks, fund managers, and enterprises to price and hedge against elections, interest rates, and geopolitical events. Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan stated that Mantil's experience and network in the institutional sector are world-class. Despite the accusations by the New York Attorney General Letitia James that Polymarket operates illegal gambling, Mantil believes the forecasting market is an emerging asset class.
