According to CoinMeta, as reported by The Block, co-founders Maelstrom CIO and BitMEX, along with Arthur Hayes, stated in Korea Blockchain Week of 2026 that currently, no digital currency, including Bitcoin and stablecoins, can truly serve as the “native currency” for AI Agent. They believe that the currency used in Agent should be able to directly and transparently exchange for the computing power required for its operation. Arthur Hayes is promoting a new project, Flop Network, which aims to establish a computing power spot market and payment network for AI Agent, using FLOP as the native currency. This project connects Agent with GPU computing power providers through verifiable AI inference tasks, and it is still in its early stages.
