BlackRock CEO Fink: Slow data center construction will exacerbate inflation
2026-10-21 14:54:33
According to CoinMeta, BlackRock’s Fink warns that as the demand for artificial intelligence accelerates, the lag in data center construction could drive up computing costs and pose a threat to economic growth. He stated, “If we don’t build these data centers, it will further exacerbate inflation, as current computing costs are already very high. The faster we build data centers, the more computing power we can provide, and thus we can reduce computing costs more quickly.” Fink pointed out that slowing down the development of this technology would have broader consequences. He previously dismissed concerns about an “artificial intelligence bubble,” believing that the core issue was a supply shortage and that demand growth had exceeded expectations. He also warned that if the construction of related infrastructure lags behind, it could ultimately limit people’s use of this technology.
