According to CoinMeta, and as reported by NBC, the U.S. military has recently been quietly reducing its troops at several bases in the Middle East, including those in Jordan, Qatar, and Kuwait. Two U.S. officials stated that on Wednesday, heads of multiple U.S. diplomatic missions in the Middle East were notified that these missions would begin to downsize their staff. Previously, the U.S. State Department clarified that such diplomatic withdrawals were limited to Saudi Arabia. The report indicates that, as Trump considers resuming large-scale military actions against Iran, further withdrawing U.S. troops from dangerous areas is one of the plans being developed by U.S. military officials, and such actions could occur around the mid-term elections next month. The U.S. plans to retain a small number of personnel at the relevant bases to be responsible for air defense and security.
