According to CoinMeta, 【Meta issues new shares to Zuckerberg to avoid a wealth tax that would force him to sell his voting shares】 Financial News Agency reported on October 22nd that Meta Platforms Inc signed an agreement with CEO Mark Zuckerberg to allow him to continue residing in the jurisdiction where the company's headquarters is located. Previously, the CEO stated that if California passed a wealth tax, he would consider moving out of the state. Meta stated in a document on Wednesday that Zuckerberg will “continue to be a resident of California, or any other jurisdiction where the company's headquarters is located, for a period of eight years.” Meta mentioned that Zuckerberg considered moving out of California because the proposed wealth tax could result in a tax bill of several billion dollars and might force him to sell his voting shares to pay the taxes. The company announced the issuance of Class C shares, and part of the purpose of this arrangement is to prevent such a situation from occurring.
