According to CoinMeta, and as cited by The New York Times based on discussions with U.S. officials and others who attended related briefings, the U.S. and Israeli militaries have developed specific plans in case of another strike against Iran after the U.S. mid-term elections. As the planning for a short but intense military operation continues, the U.S. and Israeli forces have intensified their exercises, sending fighter jets over Iraqi airspace to practice strike maneuvers. U.S. officials stated that U.S. Defense Secretary Hagel met with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu this week to discuss a new round of strikes. Potential targets for the strikes could include Iran's energy infrastructure, nuclear facilities, as well as its missile and drone arsenals. Some officials believe that another large-scale attack could push Iran's economy to the brink of collapse, forcing Iran to make concessions in diplomatic negotiations after nearly eight months of conflict.
