According to CoinMeta, South Korea's stock market tumbled more than 3% on Thursday, closing at a new low in over six months, affected by ongoing doubts regarding the global artificial intelligence investment boom. Chip manufacturers suffered heavy losses due to profit-taking. South Korea's KOSPI index fell 201.89 points or 3.52%, to 5,533.77 points, marking the lowest closing level since April 7. On Wednesday, driven by a rebound in chip stocks, the index rose 3.3%, recording the largest single-day increase in six weeks. Analysts from Daishin Securities Lee Kyoung - min stated: "The chip sector fell after a rebound on the previous trading day due to profit-taking, and the financial reports of Meta and Tesla did not provide as much boost as those of SpaceX and supercomputers ( SMCI.O)."
