According to CoinMeta, the Thai Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) stated that several asset management companies have sought consultations regarding the launch of spot cryptocurrencies. However, no asset management company has yet submitted an application for approval to establish such cryptocurrencies. The Thai SEC has not disclosed the names of these companies, and it is currently uncertain whether the first batch of products will be approved by the end of 2026. New regulations for cryptocurrencies came into effect on Friday, allowing asset management institutions to set up locally listed spot Bitcoin and Ethereum products.
