According to CoinMeta, Ascend Markets and M1X announced on October 23, 2026, that they had completed the first regulated short-term secured loan (repurchase) transaction on the Stellar ( XLM ) blockchain. This transaction involved digital U.S. Treasury bonds and marked a milestone for Stellar in the institutional capital market. The transaction used USDM1 as collateral, with USDM1 being a sovereign bond secured by U.S. Treasury bonds. Ascend and M1X transferred the entire process to smart contracts, and the transaction ran continuously for three days from October 16 to 19, during which time standard banking infrastructure was suspended. The algorithm performed 72 consecutive rollovers within 72 hours without any human intervention, handling collateral locking, interest calculation, and settlement. The total network fees for all cycles were less than one cent. By the end of October 2026, the platform had accumulated approximately $3.64 billion in RWA assets, mainly distributed among money market funds managed by SpiceT ($2.4 billion), Oasis ($557.92 million), and Franklin Templeton ($411.90 million).
