Torsten Slok: AI Investment returns remain difficult to achieve outside of big technology
2026-10-25 18:24:30
According to CoinMeta, Torsten Slok, the chief economist of Apollo, warns that despite the booming AI investments, massive AI expenditures among American companies have not yet led to measurable improvements in productivity. While the income and profit margins of each employee at the "Big Seven" companies are rising, the performance of the S&P 493 index has remained stable. At the same time, Gartner estimates that by 2030, $35 trillion in AI infrastructure spending may face the risk of impairment. The key point is that although AI investments are thriving, returns outside of the big tech sector remain difficult to achieve.
