Charlie Billelo: Bitcoin and gold will perform the worst in 2026
2026-10-26 00:57:22
According to CoinMeta, Charlie Billelo, the Chief Market Strategist of Creative Planning, stated that Bitcoin (-7.3%) and gold (-7.5%) are the two major asset classes with the worst performance so far in 2026, a phenomenon that has never occurred before in history. Nevertheless, since 2011, Bitcoin has had an annualized return of 120.6%, the highest among all tracked assets, while gold's annualized return was 6.3%. Gold rose by 63.7% in 2025, making the current decline a clear reversal. Despite their strong long-term performance, in 2026, their performance has lagged behind that of stocks, bonds, and even cash.
