According to CoinMeta, the Monero community has launched a three-month development proposal, requesting 45 XMR to support full-time work on its privacy infrastructure, wallet software, and core network. As of October 26th, the proposal has received 31.04 XMR from 42 contributors, approaching 69% of the funding goal. Developer jpk68 is requesting 40 hours of work support per week and still needs 13.96 XMR to meet the goal. Monero's official X account emphasized the proposal on October 26th, and after jpk68 publicly requested support on October 23rd, it directed community members to the funding page. Unlike projects that have dedicated foundation funds for development grants, Monero mainly relies on voluntary contributions from the community's crowdfunding system, allowing developers to submit proposals and receive funding support after approval. According to the proposal, jpk68, there are plans to continue improving Monero's compatibility with anonymous networks, particularly Tor and I2P, while also focusing on wallet usability, software maintenance, and code review.
